Jupiter |
2023In 2023, Jupiters most prominent bands NEB/SEB and the EZ inbetween returned 'back to normal' in terms of overall color hue. In October 2023, good conditions made it possible to record real detail even on the biggest moon Ganymede, without any special treatment. Gamymed is visible also in the second image from Dec., but in front of Jupiter. |
2022Both NEB and SEB still showed the rather unusual appearance from the year before (very thin and intense or almost vanished). The yellowish hue of the EZ instead appeared less intense. In the end of the year, the process of returning to the more usual state had begun. |
2021In this year Jupiter looked very different than one usually expects. Both NEB and SEB almost vanished, only very thin and intense bands appeared instead. The EZ showed a strong yellowish hue. The above image is the best one I've accomplished in that year. Evidently, in 2021, I was still experimenting with the workflow and had not yet reached the optimally possible image quality yet. The special appearance remained almost constant over the whole year. |
