Uranus |
2023Uranus rotation axis is tilted by an exceptionally high angle of 98°. One theory assumes a heavy collision as cause. In the actual phase, Uranus rolls on its path around the sun, and we look onto its norhern hemisphere. In red/infrared light, the north polar region appears brighter. The contrast is not high, so several attempts were needed to capture the effect with my 6" scope. Uranus is defintiely a target for bigger scopes. |
